Was Ayn Rand a Christian? Nope:
1. “Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and greatness should be waiting for us in our graves - or whether it should be ours here and now and on this earth.”
Did Ayn Rand support the troops? Nope:
2. “Reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.”
Did Ayn Rand believe gun ownership to be evil? Yup:
3. “Force and mind are opposites; morality ends where a gun begins.”
Did Ayn Rand understand basic psychology? Nope:
4. “Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one’s values.”
Did Ayn Rand care about anyone other than herself? Not at all:
5. “I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
What does any of this have to do with the price of tea in China? Conservatives, unlike progressives, do not believe everyone is perfect, but are wholly accepting of their beliefs (true Constitutional conservatives). So what she wasn’t a Christian? Who the hell cares? Many of our founding fathers weren’t even Christian! Thomas Jefferson was an anti-clerical Christian, Franklin and Paine were deists, and quite arguably many of the founders were theists, including George Washington. Hell, I’m not a Christian.
There have been generals throughout history (especially WWII, which is what she was criticizing), including service members, who have proclaimed their disdain for war, and even more the governing who perpetrate such wars. It is no shock someone such as Rand, who didn’t advocate for a governance would be aligned with such views.
As for your blatant attempt to establish Ayn Rand’s stance on Gun Control, when there was no stance taken, should resoundingly signify the treachery at which you will stoop. Any extemporaneous quote you may have of Rand speaking of guns was a moral judgement against humanity, and by no means an objection to the citizens’ right to own a firearm…
“Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man’s rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.” - Ayn Rand
Why did Golden Liberal write this post? He feels that if he draws ups a couple Ayn Rand quotes that differ from the progressive stereotype (they’re good at stereotyping people, turn on the TV and watch them go) of what a conservative is, that it will somehow render our support for Rand’s beliefs and her arguments inert. This is the progressive trap of fascism, believing that if you do not agree with everything someone says, that you can not agree with anything they say. It is a decades old trap!
Sometimes, I have too much hope for liberals. Believing their subdued minds are capable of complex problem solving and analytical thinking, then I come across a gelatinous pile of poorly written shit like this, and I think to myself ‘When words fall upon silent ears, fists and bullets must wake them up’.…

I’ll say it again, some people use slavery of the past to mask their own racism of today.
I think the REAL racists are the blacks!
They keep blaming us for their slavery and poverty, meanwhile we freed them, and even give them welfare! Well I say it’s time we stop!
